This is a health issue, not a political one. It's my opinion that nothing good can come from interjecting politics into things here.

Point taken, it's a health issue, and your thought on a solution?

First thing I would do is screen all flights and passengers originating from that region, costs no money, isn't that what we already pay TSA agents for, you know, "HOMEland SECURITY"?

What is your definition of region?

You'll never be able to track everyone who has been to that region via car or bus, and then hops on a plane two weeks later from outside the region.

You can ask passengers if they've traveled there, but it would be trusting their word.

There are no direct flights to the US from West Africa, and now that it is Spain are you going to halt all flights from Europe??

You just don't comprehend well do you? Read again what I said, "all flights, AND PASSENGERS ORIGINATING" never said anything about a direct flight, did I? Also NEVER said anything about halting flights did I?

This what they have passenger list and manifests for, BTW other far less developed countries than the US are all ready doing this, are you saying that they are capable and the US isn't?

True, you're right, but it would be a start, and in this particular case, it may have made a difference, IF Mr. Duncan had not lied when he filled out his questioner at the departing airport, we would not be having this discussion, would we?

You do know that had he lived he would have been tried for a Felony right?

I think he would have loved a trial. It's sad that he didn't get one.

What is sad is that he sought help at a hospital, a hospital that just one week prior had a meeting with the CDC to go over an Ebola strategy and checklist.

Told them he was from Liberia, and was sent home with the equivalent of some aspirin.

Had he been checked out closer they would have caught this days earlier and he would of had a much better chance of living.

Apparently you dont realize that people move freely about and you are going to simply ask them where they have been?, or are you going to employ Free detectives to track there movements?

In China, during the SARS panic...

...they took people's temperature at train and airport disembarking points. Still have to walk through an infrared sensor when entering some airports in China.

It isn't perfect, as if you are incubating you can get through, but it does weed out the temperature challenged inbound passengers and puts them in the People's Revolutionary Hospital #504.

I can't imagine that many of those crying for action would be in favor of this since some white men might end up hospitalized.

Seemed to calm the whole SARS thing down. Don't know if it would work for ebola.

It was a red state hospital

OK, I have to ask, how does "white men" come into this, what difference would it make what color a person was that got sick?

Whatever, funny how most of the political BS on here is propagated by the left.

...that the more middle-aged white men impacted by a particular government action or policy, the less likely it will stand. Just observation over my 55 years.

So in this case if white men were interned in ebola camps, there would be outrage. Long disquisitions about the jackbooted federales impinging on our liberties while welfare queens were free to swill ebola juice and spit it on children while dipping their lobster in ebola butter. Or something along those lines.
