This is a honest question from me. Earlier this season they were getting little to nothing! Last night was pretty much as impressive as I have ever seen.

I also want to throw out there for discussion, i think the refs helped the DLine in general last night. All year i've noticed how few (usually obvious) holds haven't been called. Last night they called them early and often and i think it helped them getting off blocks easier in certain instances.

Pretty much. What else is there to watch, dickhead?
I watch Trent Cole week after week get put in a sleeper hold coming off the corner without a call.
You can't tell me you didn't notice it last night...I'm just throwing it out there as a straw man as to why they might have played better as a D Line.

No threat to run outside

Therefore Davis could load up the A gaps and challenge the Gmen to beat them wide.
The Giants also don't have TEs that really frighten anyone deep down the middle.

Even though the question was about pass rush I think there is a correlation.
I do think that B. Allen has been good for this line, even though a rookie I think he is able to anchor the center of that line and plug it up, thus allowing the LB's to pursue the runner to the hole.
In the past with the middle being porous I think that the LB's had to have a somewhat "stay at home" attitude, and the rb's got the jump on the hole. I think that somewhat rubbed off on the pass plays when the outside guys were afraid to pin their ears back.
Now the DT's don't have to play LB'er and are free to tee off on the QB.
I think Allen has done a real nice job since coming in.

I imagine that rushing from the 3-4 is very different from the 4-3. I think the way Graham has come on as a rusher this year is a good indicator for the improvements the whole squad has been able to make.
