Not that is makes it less Mahon-ier, but the whistle blew before the play ... and when the play clock runs out the play is dead.
Thus, the first kick (after the whistle blowing the play dead) didn't count.

the problem is that any offensive penalty with less than 2 minutes should result in a runoff. no way should detroit benefit from that delay of game. i recall a similar fiasco with the rams a few years back.Comment
