Watched the Hopkins/Kovalev last night. Father Time finally caught up with Bernard. Incredible career and if he was 5 years younger he beats this guy. Goes 12 rounds with a really heavy hitter, no one has gone past eight. This was and is a sad commentary on boxing. Considered to be one of the biggest fights of the year, if not the most anticipated. Not to take anything away from Hopkins, but this really shows where this once great sport has gone. No more Thomas Hearns/Marvin Haglar, Leonard/Duran, Whitaker/Chavez, Holyfield/Bowe. MMA has taken a lot of boxers, but it just isn't that good consistantly. 5 rounds of GSP rolling around on the canvas makes me think that this resembles gay porn more than fighting. The UFC has become diluted and the heavyweight division is almost a carbon copy of what started to happen in boxing 20 years ago.
