Eckel had an article many years ago about the curse of 7-2

The 1994 team crash and burn was the most memorable. The Eagles were 7-2 after the big win over the Cowboys with Ty Detmer in 1996 before losing 3 straight and limping into the playoffs and getting crushed by the 49ers. I think the team was also 7-2 after starting 5-0 in 1992 and also getting a wildcard berth.

Eckel had noted the team was 6-3 in 2001 and 8-1 in 2004 to avoid the notorious 7-2 mark.
