  • The Eagles Mystifying Support of Cooper

Hey... I could be an Inky columnist! Somebody should do a Serial style podcast about this.

What is it about Riley Cooper? The Eagles defend him as if he were
accused of a crime he didn't commit and they were the law firm of
    Darrow, Cochran, & Dershowitz.

So, I have to ask Maniac, how old is your sister, the one you caught Cooper diddlin behind the stadium?:D

I really don't see the problem in Maniac pointing out a link to a story that supports what he was saying earlier today.

Cooper is and was a polarizing figure. Look at some posts on here about the guy and you can see that.

Maniac wants to know (and so do I and a lot of Eagles' fans) why one polarizing figure who doesn't produce gets all kinds of protection from scrutiny but another polarizing figure who does a lot of producing gets his name drug through the mud, run out of town and exiled to DC.

"Move on from DeSean, it's over" will be the standard answer but I want people to answer this honestly.

If DeSean said the exact same things Coopers has said this season, and produced at a DeSean level, not a shitty Cooper level, would everyone be saying "you're making too big a deal out of this" or would they be saying "DeSean is a punk. He's talking too much."

Sect, I also don't have a problem with M, (or anyone else for that matter) pointing out a story.

But have you been following the board for the last month, because it's not ONE story, it's a COUPLE of stories a day.

I'm just bustin his ass, as I really don't care that much what the media puts out there.

As far as the Desean comment, let's look at it from this perspective, if Sanchez can't get the ball to Cooper 20 yards out, just what do you think the odds are of Sanchez hitting Dj 40 yards out in full stride?

Huh? You criticize Maniac for constantly pointing out Cooper's shortcomings and then you take this topic and tear down Sanchez, something you've been doing a lot lately. You did what you criticize Maniac for doing.

If DeSean had Maclin's stats and made the comments Cooper has made, he'd be vilified, that's my point.

Fine, and I asked you a valid question, could Sanchez hit DJ in full stride 40 yards out?

From what we have seen I think we BOTH know the answer, there's no hate in the comment, that is MY point!

This topic has nothing to do with Sanchez. Don't know why you even brought him up?

Sanchez not throwing the ball far means Cooper or DeSean are allowed to call teammates out? Really, I'm struggling to see how and why Sanchez is involved in this discussion? Unless, you're a diehard fan of the other QB and are trying to run down the backup any chance you get, which, while I understand why people do that, I don't think it adds much to the Riley Cooper discussion.

Maniac brought Sanchez into the conversation when he said Coop "threw him under the bus" you are reading the same thread I am, right?

BTW, when DOES ANYTHING ever stay ON TOPIC around here? That would be a first!!!

You mean the other thread? Ok, fine, but why did you bring it up here when the topic is "Why does Cooper get a free pass" not "Can Mark Sanchez throw far?"

It appears to me, that what you're saying is Cooper is allowed to say negative shit about Sanchez, and DeSean would be allowed to as well (no he wouldn't, not being tied to gangs and whatnot) because Sanchez can't throw the ball far.

Somebody should have told Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson that you're allowed to be a dick if your QB is playing poorly, it would have made their careers a lot more enjoyable.

Maniac has posted FOUR SEPERATE threads on basically this same subject since 10:10am THIS morning, you don't find that obsessive?

The guy doesn't like Cooper and he's posting new stuff that he thinks proves Cooper sucks, is getting unfair treatment and is alienating teammates. This board is a goldmine for ITYS threads.

There were a lot of ITYS threads by Foles haters when he played poorly to start the year, there were a lot of ITYS threads by Foles supporters after Sanchez lost to GB and after this last loss. Nobody wants to be wrong, everybody wants to be right, that's why you go for an ITYS when you can. That's what Maniac is trying to do here.

                          the truth has been spoken.

Riley Cooper is Pinkston/Thrash/Mitchell-tier with none of their "upsides". Glorified blocker. And then he has the nerve to be a locker room headache. Most teams let a player like this go. If not for Chip Kelly, I'm really hating the 2013 season because it inflated him and The Big Slow in the eyes of a number of Eagles fans (and most importantly, the front office).

Cooper was Howie's boy from day one. That's got to be a big part of
why he's still on the roster. If you have the GM and the Head Coach
in your corner, you can do just about anything you want.

In the fifth round, the rookie general manager - who attended
the University of Florida - selected Florida wide receiver Riley
Cooper. Banner said that everyone in the Eagles' draft room heckled
Roseman as the pick was made. Banner said, "His answer was, 'There's
10 Florida kids taken already. He's the 11th one. Can't I take one?'

Sure paints Howie in a great light.

"Pretty please let me have a Gator. PLEEEEEEASE"

                              What a nerd.
