It's just been amusing. Maybe because outside of the Big 5 it's not considered much of a rivalry with regard to national success.

Anyway, I won't dispute Gary's lack of interest in recruiting and the general sleaze involved. But to say Maryland is inferior to Duke and UNC? Nearly the entire nation is inferior to Duke and UNC. Sick burn.

Although Maryland does have the 2nd most wins against UNC and 3rd most against Duke and Maryland left the ACC as one of only 3 schools with a winning record and 3rd most ACC wins in history.

I guess it's better than getting kicked out though, amiright? What's funny is that getting kicked out for football is what ended up causing Temple to bail on its own basketball conference. The AAC is prestigious and all, but just doesn't have the history of the ACC of B1G.

Hey, I didn't bring up the ACC. I was just told that Maryland was inferior to it. I thought the record should be set straight.

Why don't you do me a favor and Google the series head to head? I don't know exact record but it's within 2 or 3 games all time.

Oh yeah and temple is 6th winningest program ever so no need to feel inferior.


One of my favorite wins in college was against a high ranked Terps team. Mardy Collins locked up Darryl stawberrys kid. He air balled a free throw and crowd couldn't figure out to chant air ball or Darryl.

At any rate if you don't know much about the big 5 I suggest you stay out of it

Seriously...as a Terp fan what is your feeling of them leaving a conference that makes geographic sense and boasts decades-long true rivalries? If I were a Maryland fan I would hate it.
