  • Lurie ready to move on from Foles and Sanchez.

Nothing unexpected here. Good news is that Howie is staying!

Lurie's assessment, broken down, is that the Eagles need an elite quarterback who won't turn over the ball, a running game that remains effective in the red zone, and a radical improvement in the defensive backfield.
If when December began, you assured Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie that his team would end its season with a win, he would have been a very happy man. At that time, with the Eagles appearing all but certain of qualifying for the postseason, the only scenario that would fit such an ending would be a win in the Super Bowl.

Lurie thinks they need an elite QB who doesn't turn over the ball?

    Revolutionary.

Right up there with enlarging the video screens at the stadium so he could put advertising in both ends of the new screen and actually make the viewing area smaller than it was before.
Obscenity is the last refuge of an inarticulate motherfucker.

I read luries full comments and he also said 14-4 are real numbers and that is what nick did under chip. Also lraised his work ethic too.

It's pretty much Foles or bust for 2015

Unless you somehow pry an "elite" QB from another team, drafting a QB to compete with Foles (and eventually taking the starting job sometime during the season) would be a step back, right?

This year is typical for rookie qbs... good and bad...but none with a winning record that I can see.

Agree. Foles has to be the presumptive starter next season. But they have to draft or acquire a legitimate challenger for the job. I don't think they really believe in Foles. Kelly has been slow to commit to him. Went with Vick over Foles in 2013. Hasn't given him a vote of confidence for next season.

Even if he returns to form, you have to have a quality backup. Foles will be on a short leash.

I think trading up for Mariotta is a pipe dream but want to see a QB drafted in the first two rounds.

I think you keep Foles and purge the roster of QBs after that.

I agree with you that they should draft another, but I think D is too glaring of an issue to not use at least the first two picks there.

What about FA? I'm voting Bradford, but the Rams will hold onto him. Do you try to snag EJ Manuel via trade? Bob Griffin? Cutler?

Implied in that statement is that the Eagles need to do whatever is necessary to get an elite QB. There is no other formula for success in the NFL. Addressing anything else without that QB is just spinning wheels.

Time will exonerate H.G. Bissinger. He was right about Nick Foles all along. Foles is a backup QB without the requisite traits of a true franchise QB.

                A reminder:

So, we were a little early with this in 2014 — but the second time is clearly the charm.

How glaring a problem is QB if Foles doesn't work out? The Barkley pick looks like a fiasco. I have no problem with using a first rounder at QB. It's that important. They can throw all the rest at the defense. Or free agents like Barwin.

Not Cutler or Griffin. No strong opinion on Manuel or Bradford.

I think Chip has some problems with his durability too.

                          HAHA..so sez the nitwit

That predicted RG3 an elite QB and Luck a fraud. You're batting zero - so if you think Foles will suck he will probably be very good

Their career similarities are eerie. Wonder if they keep their MVP awards and Super Bowl rings in the same place?

I said Luck was overrated, not a fraud. Don't know why I bother to respond to an idiot such as yourself. You have the worst reading comprehension on the board. I said Chip Kelly is a fraud.

And Griffin isn't done yet. He has Donovan-esque personality problems, but not a lack of talent.
