They looked very average to me against SU. Still don't know how we blew that game. Almost blew a 19 point lead to Va Tech today though, so ...

Woooo! Very proud of my other alma mater today! Back to back wins against a ranked St John's and Nofun.

They got off to a slow start on the road in the early game down 17-3. They led almost all of the second half and lost in OT after their only player who was hitting shots, Hilliard, 14pts, 4-9--fouled out.

Strangely on such a deep team almost everyone had a cold shooting game--31% from the field and 57% from the FT line.

A TO by usually reliable PG Archidiacono factored into it at the end.

A big plus going forward for Nova was that C, Ochefu, stepped up with a career day--19pts (7-9), 24 boards.

If SH ends up with RPI around 30 the loss won't hurt them much.

That game was absolutely painful... No one misses free throws year in and year out like SYRACUSE

Yes, Nova was "practicing for March" in their 90-72 win over #24 St. Johns at MSG. It was #300 for Jay Wright.

Almost everyone was hitting shots in this one-->50% from the field, 75% from the line, 43% from 3 and a big advantage on the boards.

They got 25 points from underclassmen off the bench, including 9 from the freshman PG.

Nice rebound by the cats over St John's

I also enjoyed the comment from Gus Johnson about how many Nova fans were in the house at MSG. The Fraud street crew on here, call the VU fans "fair weather"... Hillarious BTW...
I saw a lot of TU fans dressed as empty seats in their home game at Liacouris against UCF on Sunday. What is the excuse?

St Johns stinks. They aren't even a top 50 team in the country.

Hey Joey G's thanks for the comprehensive update. I will pay you $100 if you can accurately predict which 15 seed you lose to in opening round? (After getting a lucky seed of course)

St. John's was a bit overrated. The Hall on the other hand...(that's going to have to be my team this year since IU stinks and Rutgers is Rutgers).

SH looks good. St Johns will never be relevant under Lavin, despite the amount of talent they have.

I wish they would. It would be nice for NYC to have a solid team (particularly with the state of pro ball in NY).

What RPI you looking at, Twerp? #36 and falling fast.

I'll bet you that they won't make the tournament, how about that?

                              I used:

                              http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...rpi/_/sort/RPI

NCAA has them at 36 and they were 29 previously so I don't know if calculation dates vary.

But, we can add those to my list to improve accuracy of published objective and subjective rankings.

                              ESPN RPI: 28
                              CBS RPI: 36
                              NCAA RPI: 36
                              BPI: 47

Now, let me check my calculator to figure out if 36 is > or < 50. BRB

                              ...
                              ...
                              ...
                              ...

Ok, it appears that 36 is in fact lower than 50. Let me know if any alternative math websites say differently so I can amend my list for you again.

And it's quite possible that they miss the tournament depending on how they play, but your best argument for being demonstrably wrong on them not being a to 50 team right now is that they're not as far below 50 in one set of rankings? Strong take, mathdawg.
