  • Hey Ob,,watched the wolf of wall Street last night, thinking about ya..

1st off Im not a movie guy I watch 2 or 3 a year. All I could think about was boy OB would love this; all they did the whole movie was pound down Ludes and alcohol! 3/4 of the Movie, was them snorting detergent and Plooking what was ever was in front of them, great actors and there were some funny scenes but too fuggin long.

Best part is when Donnie breaks out the Lemons and they were old, so they took too many,,,De Caps in the country club and goes down; and says I went right past the Drool stage right to a new stage,,Cerebral palsy stage..

The drug usage was soo unrealistic,,No one can do more than 2 luds and not be totally Unconscious...but the Coke,,,well thats a diff story.. I'm sure you have seen the movie,,if you haven't and have 3 plus hrs to piss away one night put it on you will laugh..

I did feel very nostalgic when I saw that movie

As for the old ludes scene, 100 % untrue.

Old ludes lost all their wonderful power. Two years after they became illegal I had to attend a formal wedding. So I pull my rarely worn tux out of the closet to attend. Imagine my great delight when I found not 1, but 3 ludes in one of the pockets. I took 1, then 2, then all 3. Nada thing.

One of the great disappointments of my life.

must have been all the knit!!! in the 80's

yupp I remember we talked about that, how they have a short shelf life.
but overall lets face it in the early 80's they were still around and if you drank too much you were face down for Hrs if you were lucky,,,

But one thing was 100% true

The part of how he believes he got home safely only to wake up the next day and see the destroyed car.

A similar event occurred to me. I drove home one evening and that night I dreamt I had smashed up my Z. I awoke the next morning and realized when I made the left turn from Lombard onto Juniper I raked the right side of the car on those concrete filled pipes they put on small streets in Philly.

At least I only needed a body shop.

Great thread here. While we are on the subject, I saw a documentary on YouTube recently about the Grateful Dead "scene" in 1994-95. I didn't realize how sketchy it got; muggings, rapings, ect. Sounds like the Heads followed Jerry right over the top. And I thought the Phish scene was crazy in the early 2000's. What was the ideal drug combo to take before a show back then?

The wife and I saw it in the theater when it came out. I have no experience with ludes but the country club scene was a pisser.

                    U got lucky

when your watching the Movie and Cap opens the door with his foot your saying to yourself..Noooooo way he can drive! So when he arrives home in one piece I kinda thought it was fishy...

I think we all have that One story in our youth of a bad decision that could have turned out much worse..

I let another bass player sub in for me one night out in Bordentown Nj at a bar we played regularly,,,I got trashed to say the least, and My buddy had to drive My 77 Tbird home,,,Master cylinder blew out on a heavily Iced road in Feb,,,Boom! right into a Bordentown Cop car....................We spent that Night in Jail! thank god no one was hurt..6 months later the Cops waived the DWI charge for my friend and let us go!!! Go figure that out.

I almost died when he tried to make it down the stairs.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.
