I'm an MCW hater, but he looked pretty good last night. I think as the guys around him get better, we might hate him less.

On the Sixers. That being said mcw needs to get a lot better at some things

I don't think they see him as part of their future, they've been trying to trade him since the end of last season.

I agree with this. I'm not quite as down on MCW as others but I think they will continue to try to move him.

Incidentally, I love that a team - that would be in the lottery if the season ended now - rested its starters against the sixers and got slapped. I hope NO misses the playoffs by one game.

He shoots at 38%, turns the ball over a ton and looks lost on D a lot.

So when will they stop reshuffling the deck and actually have pieces to build around? I'm not sold on Noel he wouldn't start on Kentucky this year. That leaves us with Embiid? I'm encouraged by him but Portland was high on Bowie until he snapped his leg in half a dozen times

Next year I think they'll start to take shape. Noel has looked good lately. 17, 11 and 5 blocks last night. I think he's going to be fine.

Biggest factor last night was 10 turnovers, one being a shot clock violation in the final seconds. If that can become a trend, we've got ourselves a team with potential.

Yes, being that almost if not all have a lot more experience, they are better NOW, but the pertinant question is whether their ceiling is better. I don't see MCW being a top 10 pg, maybe sniffing it, but I do believe he can improve.

The thing I like about him going forward is the length. If Noel, Embiid, Saric, and MCW are on the court at the same time, you have length there that other teams can't come close to. That being said, though his shooting will probably improve if he doesn't have to carry as much of the offensive load, I wonder if it could improve enough where they could space the floor effectively on offense so that the bigs could do work. Don't think he's ever going to get to that level of a shooting threat unfortunately.

I haven't watched him play in over a year but all the complaints about him in this thread are the same I had about him at SU. Not shocked at all.

when I went away on vacation they were still winless at home. Now they have three and they wont break their own record for least wins ever.

I like that you could throw MCW away and still have guys like Covington, Noel and Wroten who could be part of a nice foundation. They're finding some nice parts.

I gotta say when the season began I thought they were a stone-cold lock to break their hapless wins record so to see them already at this level is a very welcome surprise. I haven't really been into the NBA in quite some time(loved it back in the 70's and 80's however) so I usually only catch parts of games here and there. That being said, the Sixers play extremely hard and you can see them slowly building into something significant down the road. Big props to the coach.
