and would've gotten into them and microsoft decades ago. Oh well
When I got divorced and we sold our house I ended up with some cash that I put into the stock market. I spread it out over 20 companies or so. Like 4-5 K in each. It has been profitable for the most part but taxes take a large part of the gains. But still profitable.
I basically did it to make myself pay attention to the economy.
I agree that the stock market is gambling but if you diversify you can follow the basic trend of the market and maybe do a little better. My biggest winner over the years has been ARM. Bought a bunch of that five-six years ago and have been selling off pieces of it ever since.
PS: getting divorced sucks. I do not reccommend it unless you have a really sucky marriage.
Depends on the relationship. I asked my ex..."do you feel like being married anymore? ".... she said "nah". We agreed to split everything down the middle except I got the cat. Love the cat so I was pretty happy.
“I am going to literally sodomize you on the field of battle. I am going to have non-consensual sex with your face and your butt. Then I’m going after your wife and kid”

Sounds pretty amicable. I didn't get the cat when I divorced. Truth be told she was my ex wife's cat before we married so that was fair.
Having said that I missed that cat a lot when we split up. Sadly Ursa only lived another year and and a half after we split up.
