don't have a dog in this fight but
You come off as a fuggin asshole. If your behavior is indicative of the Villanova fanbase then whoever compared that fan base to that of the Cowboys is spot on especially considering your boys haven't won a championship in 30 years. I don't really watch college ball until tournament time but that's enough to know that youre setting yourself up for failure here since your boys come up small every year when it counts the most.

Nova has more upset wins in the NCAA tournament--15-- than any other school in the nation.
I think the Big 5 is the biggest reason for that. For many years Nova had one of the toughest schedules in the nation due to the strength of the Big 5 and the old Big East. That would hurt Nova's record and sometimes leave them with a lower seed than they deserved.
It is crazy that such a small school produces a Top 25 team so often. I'm not bragging. It is amazing. Much of that is Jay Wright, but our proximity to the fertile basketball recruiting grounds in NY, N. Jersey, Philly, Baltimore and DC is also a big factor.
Some of that is due to the Big East. Players from the greater NYC area know they will play a few games each year within an easy car ride for friends and family. Some games are at the Garden where the players dreamed of playing.
I suspect recent conference realignment also helped Nova, St Johns and Seton Hall. NYC players who once chose W. Virginia or Pitt since those teams played games every year in the NYC area might now be more inclined to choose current Big East schools.
Pitt and WVA used to be perennial Top 25 teams when they were in the old Big East but have not done much in the past couple of years. They both continue to have the same highly regarded coaches. They no longer play in the NYC area. Nova, St Johns and Seton Hall have all improved in recent years.
Nova fans should feel very fortunate, not boastful.Last edited by Joegrane; 02-25-2015, 12:48 AM.

To quote Tywin Lannister (and Richard Sherman): "A lion doesn't concern himself with the opinion of sheep."
If Nova is the apex of athletics and academia, you really shouldn't care what us peons think.
I don't care enough anymore to feed your troll tendencies on this topic (I really just wanted to type a GoT quote). When we met in person, I enjoyed throwing back some beers with you, so I know you're not as bad as you make yourself out to be on here.
Joe(grane) Dirt on the other hand, that guy's the worst.Last edited by Sect 236; 02-25-2015, 01:04 PM.
