    ok

I don't follow college football except South Carolina.

You think "Dunno" is Kelly's opinion of Mariotta?

    ok.

I know this, Mariotta is not seen as a can't miss, like Luck and Manning were.

Is Chip that "I'm the smartest guy in the room" to mortgage the draft class on him?

      Dunno.

I also know this ... that offense with Foles has shown its good enough to be a legit contender if they had a legit defense.

PS - Saying you only watch SC football and all this "it's Chip's opinion, not mine" is a cop out.

        Take a stance here.

Since then I prefer to wait and see who's right, so if Mariota turns into the guy who can take this team to a Super Bowl victory, you and the rest of his detractors will be too drunk from celebrating to remember that you doubted him.

If you're right and he turns out to be a bust, at least Chip was bold enough to try. I've waited 54 years to see another title -- what's one more?
How does MM turn this team into SB champs. Can he tackle? Can he rush the passer? Can he cover wide receivers? Because that's what SB champs do. Their OFFENSE is good enough to compete right now. It's the D that keeps them from serious contenders. Why would anyone want to mortgage the farm on ANY offensive player.. They already score enough points. Even if MM TURNS INTO A PRODUCTIVE QB, what difference would it make if the holes weren't filled?

Just being honest. I have no opinion on Mariotta. I'm certainly not sold on him. But I would be fine with giving up all the picks for a possible franchise QB. Their drafts havent been that productive.

Foles is okay but I don't think he's special. Reminds me of Kolb. I want a QB drafted early and a quality free agent. Need to have options at quarterback.

You give up a whole draft class, it won't matter if he's a franchise qb or not. Brady's great, but even he needs a team around him.

You need a constant influx of new players to keep a team even functional, much less competitive . . . especially one with this many holes.

Selling a whole draft class means a multi-year tank, first while the current team rots out with no replacements, then while the next team gets built with I guess insanely good drafting. If he survives that rebuild and somehow learns to play nfl franchise level football, and Kelly is still here, they might be contenders again, but by that time Mariota himself might be at mid-career.

Not to mention, I'm not sure it would only be one year's draft to move up that far.

If eagles were slotted higher then maybe it could happen. But, thankfully, beating the giants in week 17 dropped us to 20 slot and should avoid this catastrophe.

I can't see a deal like that happening. Hopefully somebody loves Mariota and takes him top 3.

...(with 27 TDs 2 Int and a 119 rating) there is more wrong with the team than needing a QB....this Mariotta talk is crap.
