I think I'll most remember him shattering that notion that he was only capable of bouncing runs to the outside. He was more than capable of going in between the tackles. That only added to his arsenal. Fuck this team for only thinking about the dollars. Some players deserve to get paid big money, and Shady was one of them.

I loved Shady, but the deal is primarily about several things BESIDES the cap savings:

1) Chip doesn't value WR/RB. He just doesn't. Herremans confirmed that on the radio - he thinks he can plug anyone in there and they will succeed (on the basis of KKKooper's performance, I would disagree).

2) RB Longevity - Most RBs tend to decline around 26/27/28... I think LT could be an example of what we could expect from Shady in the future... Some guys can last longer, but they tend to be less reliant on elusiveness/speed (Lynch, Gore).

I loved Shady, and wish he was still on the team, but I'll wait to see what they do in FA to fill the remaining holes in the team, but if they can pick up a decent RB (Spiller? Bush?) and if Alonso is fully recovered from his injury, it's not a bad deal.

Besides the snow game, I don't know if I have a specific memory so much as I'll never forgot how at least once a game he'd make a move that would have me say "how can anyone even do that?!?!"
