Yup. It's a win/win for him. If it all blows up, he's back on campus enjoying a nice new contract. And we are looking up at the The rest of the NFC East.
Who knows that no matter how disastrous those moved turn out to be, he's got an eight figure job waiting for him in college.
Chip can't lose.
Chip is more aggresive than when Saban/Spurrier were in the NFL. . Chip has all the leverage here if he mortgage the future for some kid that is nowhere near a can't miss pick like a Manning or Luck.

This I agree with
Of course it could always blow up more spectacularly than did Saban/Spurrier.
Could be the case but I just think he's really confident. I'm not sure the possibility of failure is something he even considers. Why would he? He's been pretty successful everywhere he's been so far.

If you are going to take a gamble, (or at least be unconventional in your plan) give yourself the best possible environment to make that happen.
Disagree with what? That Chip's not taking any personal risk?
Spurrier, Saban, Holtz and Petrino all bombed in the NFL and were welcomed back to college football with open arms. Chip knows even if he's dead wrong he winds up with an eight figure payday working less and coaching kids. So why not raze the Novacare Center and rebuild it? I respect him for doing it his way, but I don't admire him.
