  • Some FA expectations

Here are some dollar amounts that FAs could get.

(This is from Bleacher report, http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...biggest-payday so the numbers could be off).

Justin Houston 6 years, $75.6 million 22 sacks in 2014
Ndamukong Suh 6 years, $72 million
Dez Bryant 6 years, $70 million
Darrelle Revis 6 years, $62.4 million
Demaryius Thomas 5 years, $59 million
Jeremy Maclin 5 years, $52 million
    Jason Pierre-Paul 5 years, $43.5 million
Brian Orakpo 5 years, $41 million

I guess we can get 3 maybe 4 impact players from FA.

the only problem is that there are other teams with more money under the cap than the eagles.

they might get some joelo specials because of it.

3 or 4 'impact' players seems high. Fletcher Cox is going to get paid pretty soon, and keeping Kendricks may not be cheap. I'd be happy if we got 2 'impact' players and landed couple other solid starter-level players.

Don't forget that if we trade a bunch of draft picks for Mariotta, we may have to solidify depth through FA. If we blow the whole cap on 3 big ticket players, it may create other problems.

Agreed. I think they'll try to go DBs. The analysis of the draft is that

        Edge-Rushers: Extremely Strong
        Running Backs: Extremely Strong
        Defensive Tackle: Strong
        Wide Receiver: Relatively Strong

That may mean that we don't sign Maclin,Suh, a replacement for Graham or a RB if the FO thinks that they can be found in the draft.

I doubt they sign any of the players on that list outside of Maclin.

Only Oakland, Jacksonville, and I think Cleveland have more money under the cap than the Eagles. Even though there have been articles saying that the Eagles might be interested in Ingram or Spiller, there was an article last month that said Kelly had his eye on Abdullah of Nebraska at RB.

I am starting to think there may be some kernel of reality in these "Kendricks will be moved to get Mariota" rumors, which can be smothered if Ryans is released following the McCoy trade.

I believe if the Eagles end up having only picks from the 3rd round on, they will still be in a good spot to get at least one potential starter/challenger from the draft at OLB and RB.

Yep, totally agree. I think it would be prudent to go after solid acquisitions, not necessarily stars.

That may be their plan. Seems to make sense. Abdullah may be the target. He's now positioned as a second rounder. Maybe he'll be available in the third. Strange things can happen at the draft.

Riddle me this, how are some Free Agents already signed, like McCown, Dockett. Thought Free Agency started Tuesday.

They were cut by their former team. Cut players can sign whenever.
