Was the Eagles' plan to just drop everyone and have 25 million left in cap to just screw around with... Trying not to get too low about this cause it really hasn't even started but wtf, this has been bad.

The reaction on here from some emo people is pretty funny. Free agency hasn't even officially started, the draft is over a month away and people are worried about where the offensive production is going to come from lol. It's chip's ball of clay. Sit back and watch. It's not like he sent a bunch of championship players packing. As much as everyone liked maclin, desean and shady, it's not like they were part of some dynasty.

I've been reading some of the reporters' tweets on the Eagles Bleacher Report site--
1. If you noticed, Jackson, who was due to make 10.5M last year complained after the Saints playoff loss that he should be compensated for the year he had. Chip sent him packing. So he got cut and his base pay from the Skins was 8M. Loss of 2.5M but he probably made it up in the signing bonus.
2. They apparently asked Herremans to take a pay cut--he was due to make 4M--and he refused, so they looked at his injury history and they cut him. He signed with the Colts for 3.5M--loss of 500K which is what the Eagles allegedly asked him to drop to.
3. They wanted Cole back but he and his agents differed with the team on what his worth is as a LB who can't cover much ground in pass defense in the Eagles defense. He hasn't been signed yet and teams are looking at him as a 4-3 DE.
4. McCoy's salary was 10.5M for this year, but only 1M was guaranteed. It was alleged that he wasn't happy about that, so Chip traded him for a younger inside LB. Buffalo gave him a new contract for 40M--26.5M guaranteed over the next two years. I loved Shady, except for when he danced around too much for negative yardage, but Kelly chose not to invest heavily in a position which sees the player decline after his 6th or 7th year in the league.
5. Maclin allegedly turned down a 9M contract offer by the club in the season and was said to want 11M--now, if Kelly wasn't going to pay Jackson 10.5M, he was going to guarantee Shady his 10.5M, what were the chances of Maclin getting 11M? If he signs for KC for less than 10M then we'll all know that he didn't trust the fact that the next contract he signed with the Eagles would have had him finish his career then. If he signs for more than 10M--as has been tweeted then we'll know that the Chiefs cleared enough space to give him that much.Last edited by bobbyuk; 03-09-2015, 06:30 AM.
