Well, they were locked into a bad contract with Dwayne Bowe. They cut him the day before they added Maclin.

Fact is, Reid went into a situation where he could build on top of what he had in KC. Chip came in here knowing he was going to seriously rebuild a 4-12 team so there was a lot more salary reallocation that needed to be done with the Eagles than the Chiefs.

And that contract howie signed McCoy to was just a miserable deal. It was like he put a poison pill into a contract that he drew up. I firmly believe if that deal wasnt structured so poorly kelly would have kept McCoy. But you cant justify paying a HB quarterback type money.

For a "cap expert", Howie sure gave out some shitty deals to McCoy and Cooper.
