I don't think it's being perceived as being as simple as black and white. But when Chip Kelly talks about #culture, there seems to be a particular 'culture' that COULD BE (and probably is) perceived as not getting a fair shake. The Desean Jackson case is the most prominent example, especially when contrasted with the support for Cooper.

Again, it's not merely about race, but about culture, which includes aspects of social differences such as socio-economic status and the norms of particular neighborhoods.

Also, EIO did not say he agreed with Smith, he just related anecdotal evidence.
