Forgot about him, maybe a good in house option. Wasn't totally thrilled with the gore move.

I wasn't either. Blessing in disguise in my opinion. Dudes old as hell.

I believe it was Roob frank who tweeted out there's only been 2 RB in NFL history with as many carries as gore who have ever had 1,000 yard seasons from that point forward.

I THINK that's what it was. Something to that effect. Honestly I'm glad they got the dough back to spend elsewhere.

Completely agree. Makes you question Kelly's judgement wanting him.

I could take or leave it. If he came here and played as part of the rotation, I figured he'd be fine for a year or two. 10 carries a game or whatever. A rotational guy is fine for him at this point in his career, but signing him to be THE guy, like Indy is, that's the real questionable call IMO.

I don't think chip was signing him to be a rotational player with 10 carries a game in mind. That's a shit ton of money for that type of work imo. I think he was looking to have Gore as the guy and to mentor and groom a draft pick.

I think he was signing Gore for those 3rd down and 1 and Goal to go from the 2 that they could not punch in last year, cost them a couple of games.

I don't think he was signing him to be the main guy either. Maybe somewhere in between?

Either way, we'll never know now.

Gore had 4 rushing touchdowns last season. So did Chris Polk.

True, and how many times did Shady get stuffed at the line or jump back into a collapsing pocket, a lot more than 4.

I would also "guess" (am not going to bother looking it up) that the 49'ers got to red zone to have a chance at a 1-2 yd rushing TD a lot LESS than the Eagles did?

What's that got to do with Polk? He's the Eagles short yardage guy.

Just saying that with Shady being the featured back he got more cracks at the EZ than Polk did, without Shady here, I think Gore would have been utilized more often in that role, that's all.
