Despite the expected addition of running back Ryan Mathews and the presence of Darren Sproles and Chris Polk on the Eagles' roster, the team remains "very much" in the mix for top free-agent RB DeMarco Murray, according to Peter Schrager of Fox Sports.

In fact, Schrager reports that discussions between the Eagles and Murray have "heated up significantly today."

The report is backed up by Adam Caplan and Adam Schefter of ESPN, who add that there is mutual interest between the Eagles and 2014's leading rusher, despite the perception of a crowded backfield.
