The twats i saw today were that he was in Philly, but in a weird holding pattern. I think that Chip expected the Cowboys to match the offer and figured Mathews was done. When Murray showed real interest, Chip took him and ran.

In fairness to you, I think some people reported the verbal agreement as "signed."

Esp, at the second tier, I think Murray will find a lot of room here with the offense spread out.

Although Safeties may play in tighter with no real down field threat? Not saying Matthews couldn't fill that role, just not a name brand.

Ahh, I knew Murray was there 4 years. Hadn't looked up the numbers.

Not that any of this necessarily means anything. I'd say their wear and tear based on "stats" is fairly comparable.

I thought McCoy was more of a boom or bust runner, but Murray has actually had 20+ runs more frequently than McCoy.

Their averages are 4.8 and 4.6 (in the NFL) for Murray and McCoy respectively.

It'd be nice if he just signed the damn thing. I have a feeling it will be Murray, Sproles and Polk, though.

Actually I think I would rather have Polk than Mathews? It gives you three rb's that were healthy all last year.

Hard to keep up. Good news though I think. Polk can be the third back. Matthews and his agent might be a tad ticked off though.

Dallas doesn't make the playoffs without Murray last season.

Polk is a good size back,,great around the Goal line,,keep him for one more year a draft a good prospect.

Esp. since he is only at 1.5 with no cap hit.

Polk is a good North and South runner.

Bryce Brown was that at first until he started to bounce outside like Shady including the fumbles

Murray and McCoy differ markedly in at least one statistic. McCoy had the third-highest percentage of rush attempts go for zero or negative yards the past four seasons (among running backs with at least 300 attempts). In that time, Murray had the ninth-lowest percentage (out of 57 running backs).
