  • Notre Dames coach gave that one away

    Horrendous coaching down the wire.

Yup, Brey will be questioning himself for a while after that one.

Not holding onto a TO. Not switching out August on D and letting Towns or whomever drive the basket. Amongst other things. Not even the players fault either

All he had to do was look at the other bench where Calipari was subbing O for D with Towns for an example of how to handle Auguste with the foul trouble. The TO, like you said, was a killer.

How ridiculous was it to see a 7 footer like Cauley-Stein stick with a guard down the entire court on the last play...That's other worldly athleticism.

Edit to add: "Amongst other things" should also include running a prevent offense instead of the same O that got them that far to begin with. Run your set. Don't play the clock, play Kentucky.

Frank The Tank and Dekker vs. the Kentucky front court is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

so stupid... Tied up with a minute to go and he decides to hold the ball till the very end of the shot clock, doesn't even get the shot off. Gives UK the ball back with the shot clock turned off. Why not attack and go for a quick score? Even if you don't score the clock will be at 45 seconds and make calipari decide what he's going to do. By Brey not attacking in that situation, basically made it a 1 possession each game when it could be 2 to 1 in favor of ND. Stupid.

                Also Calipari is a pos

Said they played terrible and had freshman in there... Barely gave ND any credit in the exit post interview

he's such a douche bag and makes it even easier to root against that program. He blamed the freshmen for it being this close. It's like give me a break, only reason why you were in that game was because of your freshman, Towns. I really do not like the guy at all.

Brey Should have fouled KY before they could take a shot with their last possession.

You take the 2 for 1, dont waste your last TO...you at least have a chance to win the game

They talked to Towns immediately after they talked to Cal and it could not have been more different. Towns was humble, gracious and filled with joy. Calipari could stand to learn some shit from these kids he's coaching.

Also, I read a good one on Twitter last night:

"This is shaping up to be the best vacated season ever for Calipari."

not going to throw Brey completely under the bus. with just under 10 left Kentucky missed a free throw, got the rebound, scored +1. Can't happen.

Last 5:30 of the game, ND 2 of 5 from the line, UK 4 of 4. You can pick apart the last couple of minutes all you want but those two late misses from the stripe end up being the difference between who has to make the last shot to tie/win.

All that being said nobody gave them a snowball's chance of winning that game and they nearly pulled it off. Best season of ND men's hoops in 30 years.

                          Concur on Calipari's douchebaginess.
