It started life as a cozy little three-post thread, not making much noise at all, just one of many on an otherwise ordinary day.
All of a sudden it took off and the resulting explosion of replies was so huge that it made the 1883 eruption of the Krakatoa volcano seem like a couple of Fourth of July firecrackers.
