  • Sixers may control their own destiny

    http://www.csnphilly.com/basketball-...a-city-thunder

The Sixers have Miami's pick, only it is top-10 protected. The Heat have the 10th-worst record right now. However, for all the criticism the Eastern Conference takes for having bad teams, the battle for the seventh and eighth seeds in the East involves five teams with nine days to go in the regular season. The Heat are among them.

The Heat have 43 losses, the same number as the Pacers and Hornets. The Celtics are the eighth seed with 42 losses.

The Heat have the Hornets, Bulls, Raptors, Magic and Sixers remaining on their schedule. It is quite possible the final game of the season against Miami at the Wells Fargo Center determines if the Sixers have a second first-round pick this summer.

Jut, do you recall the stipulations for the Sixers getting the Thunder's 1st rounder this summer?

By the way, Heat win tonight...whoooo!!

Pretty sure it's top 18 and they're right around 18.

Gotcha. Their remaining games are Sacramento, Indiana, Portland and Minnesota. Hopefully they can win 3 outta 4.

Not looking good for the Sixers @ 19 and the Heat's top 10 protected pick could be in jeopardy too if the Celtics continue to win.

You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand... and say you have no whistling bungholes... spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, Hüsker Düs and don'ts. Cherry bombs, nipsy dazers, with or without the scooter stick... or one single whistling kitty-chaser?

                  Lakers - top 5
                  Heat - top 10
                  Thunder - top 18

At the rate they're going, they'll be lucky to end up with the Heat pick. Thunder are a game back of the Pelicans who may get Jrue back (unlikely I guess). Lakers is just going to be ping-pong balls.

What a very big game tonight. This will
Be interesting how the FO / Coach decide to play this. I'm not saying they will intention lose, but sitting players, etc could be in the mix for both teams. Sixers are 2 point favorites, which tells me that Wade, Deng and others will be sitting.

Doesn't matter. Pick is top-18 protected so even if OKC were to make the playoffs, they would be at pick 18.

The only pick the Sixers have a chance at is the Heat, who need to beat the Sixers tonight and have the Nets lose to the Magic in Brooklyn, putting the Heat pick at #11.
To run with the big dogs you have to be a big dog, dumb fuck.

So if the Thunder win the title this season (theoretically), they still get the 18th pick?
