Brandon Boykin and Mychael Kendricks should have their bags packed

Boykin and Kendricks are two pretty good players and it seems like they are not in Chip Kelly's plans for the future. Now, Kelly is on record saying he won't mortgage the future for anyone. But since it's become pretty clear that Kelly doesn't view either player as being a part of the Eagles' future I think it's safe to assume these two young players will be offered for trade this weekend. Obviously, they may be included in any potential package for Mariota, but outside of such a blockbuster deal it still makes sense for the Eagles to attempt to deal them. In fact, these two pieces, along with Evan Mathis to a lesser degree, could also help replenish picks dealt in other deals.

For Boykin I don't think the Eagles should accept anything less than a third, while Kendricks could garner a future second and fourth once some of the college linebackers are off the board and teams in need start to look for alternatives.

Agreed on Boykin. But Chip never said anything bad about Kendricks. He actually said that they were a different defense without him on the field, but they missed him when he was hurt.

They may trade Kendricks, but the only thing suggesting that Kendricks will be dealt was some theory that Ray Diddy pulled out of his ass on WIP.

They don't even have a replacement for Kendricks. Ryans is a 2-down player now. Alonso takes the other spot. Brad Jones is a STs player, not a starting ILB. It doesn't make sense to me until they have a replacement.

That's true right now, but they did a LOT of prep work on ILB prospects that will be drafted early.

I think Kendricks will be traded if:
1) They draft an ILB in rounds 1 or 2
2) It's part of a package for Mariota

Plus, that would set them back in addressing needs at DB (they have a massive chub for Byron Jones) or WR. We talk about Kendricks like he's expendable, but I still remember Brian Rolle and Jamar Chaney manning the middle.

Plus, that would set them back in addressing needs at DB (they have a massive chub for Byron Jones) or WR. Why even draft then? Instead of "trading" your draft pick for a college player who is an unknown, just trade them for players that can play.

I think there is a longer term plan at work here where the players are bigger and stronger with less emphasis on speed. As good as he is Kendricks doesnt fit that mold and 2015 is the last year on his rookie contract. So the time to deal him is now because you can't deal an RFA.

I think this is likely the case. The players being dealt are players that Kelly was given, not players that he chose.

The biggest thing Kelly has done to make it harder to sell the fans/media on re-making the roster was going 20-12 in his first two years.

That's all great and nice until all of the decent LBs get taken and you're left with Ryans and Alonso. Ryans was really good, but he was already somewhat of a liability in coverage before the 2nd achilles tear.
