The NFL renounced their non profit status so they don't have to publicly report the salaries paid to top officials (e.g. McMahon).

I don't believe it was just media hype when it came to Mariota. I think there was something there. Chump just didn't have enough ammo to get it done. Not really his fault. I think he wanted it, though.
