  • Ereck Flowers started 13 games at Left Tackle in 2014 and gave up

ZERO sacks, along with just 3 hits...for the whole year, while facing some of the most elite competition in college (Eli Harold, Randy Gregory, Mario Edwards, Lorenzo Mauldin, etc.)

All while being a devastating run-blocker who consistently sealed the edge on runs towards his side (2nd highest run-block grade per CollegeFootballFocus stats)

At the combine did 37 bench reps with 34.5 inch arms. This is a man that is a 6'6, 330 pound athletic powerhouse with astounding brute strength.

"He has the WORST techinque we've ever seen." This was an offensive line coach at their recent clinic talking about Flowers.

Yup he's THAT dominant that he still won all his matchups even without great technique...imagine how great he's going to be when he's coached up and improves his technique?

Ereck Flowers has one of the clunkiest, slow-footed pass sets I’ve ever seen. I have serious concerns over whether Flowers can be a capable pass protector at the next level, yet I still see him popping up in the top 15 (and even top 10 in a few occasions) on some mock drafts. Watch his kickstep drill from the combine.

His sluggish kickstep shows up on tape as well, but in college his poor technique didn’t really matter – he was already so much bigger and stronger than his competition most weeks that he was able to win with brute size and strength at the point of attack.

To go along with his horrid footwork, Flowers routinely commits a cardinal sin the art of pass blocking: he lunges. In college, lunging doesn’t kill him on the edge because like I said, he’s just a mammoth compared to other defenders on the field. In the NFL, that won’t fly. Professional pass rushers feast on offensive tackles who lunge, because it usually means they are off-balance; resulting in easy pulldown techniques for #sacks.

Another issue with Flowers game is that he never delivers punches in pass protection. He just swallows defenders and tries to engulf them with his sheer size. This will yield him a ton of holding penalties as he encounters bigger, stronger, faster edge rushers. Watch him versus Florida State. He never delivers a punch and wraps his arm around Mario Edwards’ neck as the inside rush lane opens.

That would insinuate that the Giants' washed-up coaching staff is able to coach anyone up. Guy is going to be about as dominant as the Giants defense you hailed last year.

He should be a huge upgrade over Beatty. I'm scared.

              Terrible stretch pick

Vagiants have no chance at the playoffs this year. None

Beatty was nothing more than a SOFT, FINESSE tackle who routinely wiped out big plays with his holding penalties (see Eli's deep TD to Randle in Week 17 that was called back due to holding by Beatty on Graham)

Yes, the Giants got better with Beatty's injury.

I can't wait to hear this when Eli goes down as well (on the field,
                  Not on Peyton).

John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
