John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
"I was playing darts in a bar and had to go to the john. Someone must have roofied my drink, because after I returned and took a sip of the drink I didn't remember anything. I woke up the next morning in my front lawn with my pants pulled down to my ankles."
