Hey KG, if you download this program it will put a start menu back into Windows 8.1

Also if you follow the instructions here you can get Windows 8.1 to boot straight into the old desktop interface.

Microsoft added this much-needed option to the Windows 8.1 update. Here's how to enable it.

I run Windows 7 Professional and I'm very happy with it. I was not even aware of the hybrid Windows 10 until the icon popped up in my task bar a couple days ago.

So, what do you know about this. Should I be reserving my free update now? Do I want to update from 7?
Some changes coming in windows 10

Windows 10 is fast approaching and while there’s no immediate need to upgrade from 8.1, or even 7, odds are you’ll want to make the jump eventually.
