  • The Sixers Fucked Up Bad Taking Embiid

Fucking mistake of unbelievable proportions. His foot is not healed and there are whispers he may miss next season.

    Sixers statement:

"As part of the conservative approach focused on the long-term health, recovery and care of Joel, we have been closely monitoring his progress, regularly evaluating his status and adjusting our plans accordingly.

"Recently, Joel and Sixers personnel traveled to Los Angeles for a series of routine exams with a number of physicians who have been actively involved throughout this process. During his visit with Dr. Richard Ferkel, a standard CT scan on Joel’s right foot revealed less healing than anticipated at this point.

"Our priority remains providing Joel with every opportunity to ensure he has a long and successful NBA career, and as such, these findings cause us to pause and reassess his current activities. Together with Joel and his representatives, we will continue to consult with the experienced team of doctors who have been an integral part of his evaluations, while also engaging in dialogue with a broader set of experts and specialists.

"Discussions regarding the appropriate next steps are currently ongoing and we will share an update once it becomes available."

Who would you have taken at 3 in that moment if you were the GM? If you say that you would have drafted anyone but Embiid, you're a liar.

Tonights' statement sucks big time, but to say they "fucked up" that's just you being typical Anthony.

Don't stress it. Let him sit out one more year and recover.

In 2016-2017, Dario Saric, Emiid and 4 first round picks can make their debut together.

You live for these sorts of things
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

              And The Sky Is Blue

We're talking a franchise that has specialized in drafting or trading for injured players -- why should this be anything different?

Like a previous poster said, have to take embiid if you were in Sixers' spot. Let Joel sit out next year if need be, get another high draft pick, and let him heal. No need to rush him. Sixers aren't doing shit next year anyways.

I disagree. You can only tank for so long plus it has not worked. They have to start making headway next season. Even at full strength they will still be a lottery team anyway and have the Lakers pick.

                      Explain making headway.

Starting to win more games and show development of whoever they pick this year, Noel, Embiid (doubtful now) and if they get Saric in. Bottom lottery would be a good improvement (8-12 range). They most likely have the Lakers pick could very well have a better season and still end up with two Top 10 picks.

You are delirious if you honestly think a lineup of Smith and Canaan, Wroten off the ACL or (Russell most likely), Mbah a Moute, Nerlens, and Embiid (assuming he's healthy) make any headway at all. That lineup blows. That's another top 5 pick. They should have at least three first rounders the next year, and also get Saric. That's the year they make "headway." They will blow next year with or without Embiid

If it is as simple as that, fine, but I doubt it.

*Why* is he not healing at a normal rate?

At age 43 I broke my leg while playing badminton with little nieces. There was no collision. I just turned, lunged and both bones in my lower leg snapped like pieces of chalk.

Others at the party who were watching said I did not slip or trip. After they sent me to the hospital they combed the lawn. They said it was perfect.

A Dexa bone density scan reported below average bone density. The doctor, a former med school prof with two Best of Philly awards, ran a long list of tests. He said for some reason my body does not rebuild bone normally and medicine does not know why. He was concerned that I probably already had stress fractures in my spine.

1+ yr later a followup scan reported some gains in density of my leg but slight worsening of my back while on the doctor's medication and supplements.

I got a lucky tip from Dr Mark Hyman who says he went to ten other doctors before someone realized he had a heavy metal problem contributing to his strange list of health problems.

I had grown up in a family with a renovation construction business. I can recall sanding and applying lead paint as a pre teen. I can't tell you how many times we removed custom old moldings from one part of a house on the Main Line and installed them in another room after cutting, sanding the old lead painted wood.

After 1.5 yrs of heavy metal detox--Cutler protocol--a followup bone density scan reported an 8% gain in the density of my back. It was borderline normal and my doctor was no longer concerned. I also strangely gained 10 lbs but still fit in my clothes. Followup hair tests during the months of detox reported lead and cadmium in the red. Cd is associated with brittle bones and kidney problems which I also had. It was a tint in some old lead paints. I had other improvements in little health issues--food sensitivities, energy, better mood, etc. My kidney test numbers are now normal.

If Embiid has some unusual underlying health problem he could be screwed big time and the Sixers along with him. My doctors did not even suggest the problem during the 15 yrs that my list of health problems were screwing up my life.
