Chip can get rid of who he wants because there is no down side for him. And he knows it. While he is here, he doesn't care who is on the roster as long as they don't question anything. There are no questions in Chip ball.

Mathis insinuated that the Eagles waited until after the FA period was over before they cut him ...to keep him from getting the money he wanted.

He then claimed he didn't ask for a release ....but still skipping voluntary workouts) ...

I'm not sure if Kelly intentionally waited to limit Mathis' prospects, or wanted to see what he would do vis a vis voluntary workouts, but it appears this got personal.

I agree. I bet Chip would have preferred to have Mathins back for another year but only if the price was right and if Matthis was not going to cause problems on the team.

Maybe also some of the backups looked better than expected in OTAs.
