If Embiid's foot isn't healed, why was he dunking in pre-game warm-ups last year?

It's a weird situation. If I'm reading things correctly, the team only knew his foot wasn't healing as well as they'd expected because of a routine exam -- Embiid said he had been feeling fine. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but it does explain why he had been working out full speed. If you're not in pain, and you're trying to get in shape, that's what pro athletes are expected to do.

I'm still hoping the Sixers are just being ultra cautious with the guy who is their best chance to be a contender in the future. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.

Embiid was always going to give us Bradford level chills when it comes to injuries. There's always going to be a slight sense of panic when he so much as stubs his toe.

I really do hope that we're at a point where Hinkie and team are going ultra conservative because there's no point in risking the future for the now when the now isn't going to be that great with or without Jo Jo.

It behoves sports writers to paint a grim picture because they'll get more people reading with gloom and doom. Plus, there's always the old guard who hates Hinkie and what he's doing (Eskin comes to mind) who were salivating for an opportunity to scream "See! The plan doesn't work!" so they jumped on this before any real facts are known.

It's a wait and see, but it's always been that ever since Jrue was traded on draft night.
