                Also Riccardo, you can't have it both ways (but you probably like that).

                The Confederate battle flag, as you know, is the flag of the Northern Virginia Army. Since the end of the Civil War, the flag was occasionally used at Confederate memorial services. That's it. It gained popularity during the Civil rights movement in the 1960's and incorporated into some state flags during that time.

                The flags of Alabama and Florida with the St. Andrews Cross were introduced before 1900. It's a far stretch of your liberal imagination to make an association that gained popularity sixty years later.

                This is just the watered down information on the battle flags surge in popularity in the 1960's.

                    It was just a random upswing in appreciation for Southern heritage! Definitively, definitely, definitely not a reactionary move to try and put the black people standing up for their rights back in their place.
