Can't see where anyone (with a brain) would be pissed.

I'm getting a load of laughs out of all these talking heads expounding on the death of the big man just because the Warriors happened to win with prissy 3 point shooters.
Try putting together a small team to win, then get ready for years of misery."It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you."

The thing the Sixers have needed since Moses Malone is an inside FORCE. And If I'm a free agent stud guard I want to come to a team with big men to throw the ball to.Officially awaiting Douchebagnacht II since

It's silly to even say it, but......

I don't watch much college basketball but I can't be upset with the selection.
They took the best player available at the time.
Only thing derogitory I will say is it seems to me like the NBA, in a McMahon like manner, is trying to limit the value of big guys in the paint, and enhance the value of three point shooters.--------

Agree. Bilas thought Okafor was the best player in the draft and I have to agree when it comes to producing right now. The guy is a fucking stud down low. His touch around the hoop is rare and has the size and footwork to dominate in the NBA. Love the pick. I don't understand how you cannot.

I'm sorry but a GM who keeps shuffling players at the same position as his team piles up losing seasons doesnt impress me. He could have maneuvered down and picked up a player that meets his teams needs better.
This idea that they have to take certain players every year because everyone else sucks will be revealed to be incredibly short sighted in three years.
A guy like Hezonja will be helping his team win games while the Sixers are still trying to get fair market value for whichever Center they can move from their roster.
Hinkie just isnt as smart as you think."You'll get nothing and like it!" Judge Smails

A general managers job is not to pick the best player available or the best college player, it is to pick the best player for HIS team three years from the date of selection. This is the problem i have with Hinkie.
Anybody can sit on their thumbs and select the consensus best player available, at the time, and say they did their job (and no one should criticize). But the best GMS, the true 'geniuses' have an ability to envision who will contribute in the most meaningful way to their team down the line.
In 2008 Thabeet was a center considered the bpa when he was selected number 2 overall. Sadly for memphis they passed on harden and curry.
To be frank, it isnt about Okafor as a player, its about Whats becoming very painfully obvious with each passing day: Sam Hinkie has no plan to make the Sixers a winning organization.Last edited by J_Cuz31; 06-27-2015, 11:45 AM."You'll get nothing and like it!" Judge Smails
