  • Sixers Trade With Kings

Getting Carl Landry, Jason Thompson and Roth's boy Nik Stauskas in a salary dump.

Stauskas and Covington should get a decent amount of open looks on kick outs from Jah (and Embiid hopefully)

People forget how good their defense was once they learned the system and Noel got comfortable. I am not saying they will be amazing next year but they should at least be watchable

read it was for overseas players. hope saric isn't one of those players.

In addition to the players, the Sixers get a future first from Sac (not next year, they already traded that) and the right to swap 1st round picks in two future drafts.

If Hinkie made all that happen and didn't give up Saric, he is legit the GOAT

I've agreed with the Hinkie plan all along, but got to say, even this one shocked me. What a steal. Landry is a great guy to have on a team, both as a mentor and a guy that'll fit wherever needed. Jason Thompson is another guy that will help bring along the young bigs, and their contracts are up right when the young bigs might need to get paid. Plus Thompson is from Camden, and it's always cool to see a local boy at home.

With Stauskas, you get a guy that although struggled in limited playing time last year, was a lights out shooter in college, and should see a lot more pt and open looks on this team.

My only issue with the trade is it might've made them too good too soon, but then Hinkie protected that with the right to swap first with the Kings, who are one of the most disfuctional teams in the NBA, at risk of losing their young star, and are in a loaded Western Conference. Bravo Hinkie, bravo!
