  • NJ hates Riccardo

Just got whacked for the 3rd time in 10 months. Sept 2014 get hit by a car while on bike, Feb 2015 rearended in car driving to work, today rearended on the parkway heading to barnegat to go fishing. Towing the boat which took the brunt of the impact, at least could drive away - only minor damage to the vehicle.

I gotta get out of this dump

Looked like the car that hit you got the worst of it. There are things about NJ that I love but I'm much happier in PA. You're almost a geezer. Tons of great retirement communities in Lancaster County haha!

How'd you get rear-ended on the parkway?

No one ever stops. They just fly off and on ramps on their way to 90 MPH. Were you at a toll plaza?

stupid lady had a flat tire

And stopped where there's virtually no shoulder (around Brick). I had to stop because I couldn't get around her with traffic towing the boat, some woman thought she could whip around all of us to the right and slammed into us. Good thing we had the boat because it absorbed the impact, she had to be going at least 60. We'd probably be in the hospital if we weren't towing the boat. The girl that hit us (had to be in her 20s) didn't even have a drivers license!

Couldn't the b*tch pull onto the grass?

I would be driving on my rim to get off of that mad house road.

In my new job I'm driving locally 7 hours a day and believe me, a lot of people don't care if you crashed, broke down, your car is on fire......you're preventing them from getting where they are going and that's not acceptable. So to hell with whatever is in front of them.

I saw a lady try to drive up a 2 lane road crowded with fire trucks and hose lines in front of a house fire. She couldn't comprehend the road was blocked and she was going to have to turn around. I've seen people drive up the wrong side of the road - the cop car was blocking their thru lane- so they went around them.

Riccardo's boat acted like one of those barrier trucks they use at construction sites.

No grass, just about a foot of shoulder and then a guard rail

Trooper said she was at fault too since she was told to get off the parkway. Get this, she was out of her vehicle, lighting flares and trying to direct traffic around her. The car that hit us smacked her (I think her mirror) and sent the lady flying over the guardrail - she had cuts on her arm and leg. Lucky she wasn't killed - but sounds like she got a ticket too

Jesus. Imagine if you were somewhere between....

...the Union toll plaza and the Raritan toll plaza? You would have been parkway dry rub.

Yeah it's amazing what you see

I was going south on 206 a few days ago and they were doing road work on the north bound lanes. A mile down the road there was a staging area where dump trucks were bringing loads of stone and they had one truck blocking the northbound lane so the trucks could come out in a convoy. Just as I was passing I see 2 cars whip around to the right of the blocking truck and almost hit one of the dump trucks. Incredible stupidity

The raritan toll plaze area is a nightmare with a boat

We were coming up from sandy hook 2 weeks ago, heading north and getting off on 287. Trying to get across 10 lanes to the far right is insane. Some chinese guy in a minivan almost clocked the boat

Wreck today had a ramp blocked to I295 southbound in DE and so instead of continuing north to the next interchange a mile away and turning around people started either making a U-turn on the ramp or backing down it against oncoming traffic. Amazed there wasn't another crash.

And make sure you're boat is strapped down well. Had somebody last month lose their boat off the trailer on Route 1. Couldn't have been a good vacation after that.

Welcome to my world, a LOT of people simply have no common sense any more, I will admit the N.E. is bad with traffic and narrow roads, but even out west people will pull over on an 80 mph Interstate and leisurely stroll around the car, stretch, take off their coat, drag the baby out of the car seat to pee.

All the while they have an exit a mile up the road they could have safely pulled over on, I always taught my family, you get a flat, I don't care if it ruins the rim, get off the highway.

SMH, every day I'm on the road.

Here's what I deal with every day doing deliveries, be forewarned it's graphic,

I'm always amazed to see people trailering boats that aren't secured. Many years ago, I was sitting at a dock, next to a bridge that had pretty significant vertical undulation due to old expansion joints (the old Rt 24 bridge over Love Creek in DE, if you know it). The thing was pretty much a bridge full of whoop-de-doos. I was used to hearing the sound of traffic going over it...until one time the sound was interrupted by a bang and a long, sickening SCRRRRRRRAAAAAAPING sound. Fiberglass on pavement. Some dipshit's boat flew off their trailer, and they proceeded to drag it down the road for several hundred yards.

Ever since then, I tend to notice it when boats aren't properly tied down.
