  • Johnnie Bench? Bullshit!

How about the greatest 3rd baseman ever, Michael Jack?

Fuck that Big Red Myth shit. I hated that team.

The same time the media was drooling over the Reds, the Pirates were fielding a team that featured 8 position players hitting over .300

Fuck that overrated Reds squad couldn't beat the Orioles.

      The best? Not even close.

OK, you have your team. I'll still take the 1980 Phils.

THAT was a great, great team. Maybe not the greatest stats, but they did Philly proud; very very proud.

THAT'S Your Argument? The All-Star Game???!!!

The fact that 7 of 8 Reds starters were also starters in the All-Star games those years shows one thing and one thing only -- the ballot box stuffing in Cincinnati was organized.

Cincinnati radio stations urged the fans to vote early and often and that's exactly what they did, and Reds fans drove to Cleveland and Pittsburgh to "appropriate" ballots from those cities so they could add to the total.

Ballot box stuffing is a proud tradition in Cincy -- see the 1957 game for that little fiasco! The All-Star Game is a popularity contest that has no bearing on the strength of a team -- PERIOD!
