  • Boo frickin' hoo, Les

*My take-away from Les is that he's tired of fighting Kelly, and now he's trying to show us poor slobs that Chip doesn't care about us; even more than he doesn't care about the Philly media.

I also found Bowen's take on Dallass fans being nearly as passionate as Philly fans (compared to market size) a bit odd.

The amount of bitching the Philly media (Les especially) does about not getting enough access is ridiculous. They seem to want to be spoon fed stories, meanwhile WaPo has a reporter doing actual investigative reporting on Kelly that the Philly writers totally missed.

Honestly, philly.com is probably the last place I go now for Eagles information. PhillyMag, BGN and even Philly Voice and CSN are all higher on the list.

It really has gotten out of hand. Some of these reporters act like he's the Harper Lee of football. He talks every week during the season, meets with reporters a few times during the offseason, the team sends out statements every now and then too. He has zero interest in talking about his personal life, and is rightly cautious about giving away information or insight that could help his opponents. This notion that Kelly owes the media or the fans more availability and access to his thought processes and/or his personal life is kind of gross, in my opinion. As a fan, I don't feel short-changed in the least. His interviews are funny and insightful when he gives them, and it's nice that he doesn't overdo it.

Well said...I don't give a flip about Chip's personal life and don't feel entitled to know that info just because he's coach of my favorite NFL team...gimme a break with all this media angst over him not being forthcoming with his personal info. Stay Strong Chip!

This. Obviously this information was out there to be discovered if one cared to dig hard enough. I really like Bowen, but this reeks of sour grapes.

I don't give much of a shit about him either. We're not on each other's Christmas card list. If he leads the team to a Lombardi, he could be the most aloof, stand-offish prick in the history of the universe and I couldn't care less. He's got a job to do. Win games and we're good.

No coach *cares* about the fans or the media. They have a job to do, so they do the dance when they have to. Anyone who *cares* about them is wasting their emotional effort. At least Chipper usually says a couple funny things when he's forced to talk. He attended the visitation for that Philly cop that was killed. He seems like a decent enough dude. That's good enough for me.

Yeah, he does seem like a good dude. I wonder how the NE media feels about Belicheat. He does the exact same thing.
