There are also a few good young players on d about to come off their rookie deals. Cox, Curry, Kendricks, Logan...you can't keep them all! Better to get something than let him walk for nothing. Wish this would've been done in week six though. Liked watching Boykin play.

I would be willing to bet dollars to donuts that there are black players on the team in good standing with Chip who like hip hop culture. It's just that they don't behave in an immature way with respect to the team.

Chip seems to me to not like complainers, has nothing to do with hip hop. Mathis, LeSean, DJax. Even Diggle said DJax was pretty immature.

As to CCP's assertion that because more than a few people have made this complaint, that's true. But to me it doesn't indicate the truth of the underlying assertion, but rather that a narrative has taken root in the chattering class and among players that is probably overstated dramatically.

It's sort of like a narrative about a politician, "He's tough on crime," "he tells it like it is," "He's dumb." Once the narrative takes hold, every possible incident that occurs that builds the narrative is reported, while everything else is discarded. That's what's happening with Chip, I think.

EXACTLY. Spot on with this post. Nothing to do with the hip hop culture. Boykin was not that good. That simple. Was completely expendable and they decided to get something for him. He was upset about leaving because he loved Philly and was bitter.

Bottom line, Boykin was traded because he could be. They think they have great depth at that position and Boykin was just about the only one who could be traded and get some value. They might of received a fourth round pick for a guy who had a SHIT year. How can anyone think this brings up any red flags about Chip????

Thinking about it, I've spent a lot of time in both Oregon and New Hampshire. Both are some of the whitest places I've ever been in my life. Idaho trumps both in whiteness, however.

Maybe some parts of Idaho are white as rice, but I worked out of Caldwell for a good portion of the early 90's lots of Mexicans along with some other races mixed in.

Now if you are talking Sandpoint or that northern area, then yeah, pretty white also pretty rich.

But saying Idaho is all white would be like saying Illinois is all black after you visted south Chicago.
