Had a bad feeling about the Boykin trade to begin with...now that feeling is validated. Guys like Mathis and Boykin would have helped a deep playoff run this year...subtracting from this roster isn't helping things right now.

what the hell is Mathis doing? Unfortunately, Chip looks like a dope for letting him walk even if Mathis takes a salary cut.

I guess edited to add, this: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/201...an_mathis.html

General manager Mike Maccagnan explained that the Jets have had talks with Mathis' camp, but he also strongly implied that Mathis wants more money than the Jets (and other teams) are willing to offer. Mathis can certainly play, but he's also going to be 34 in November, he's injury-prone (knee), and he hasn't played much on the right side in recent years. The Jets would have to structure a deal accordingly, which isn't always as simple as it seems. Maccagnan also said the Jets wanted to see what they have in camp before re-evaluating what they might want to do. They're only a week into the process. The benefit is that the longer they wait—and the longer Mathis stays on the market—the more likely it is that his price comes down.
Looks like he really overvalued himself.

so you traded a solid slot corner and a guy who led the league in INTs 2 years ago for a 5th round pick. Now the 6th round pick who was supposed to replace him is hurt and who knows if he'll ever be any good now.

        highly suspicious

This is just something we need to accept. When you blast loud music and have everyone wear white socks at practices, there are bound to be injuries.

unless BB sucks or gets hurt it'll be a 4.

They took that instead of having a malcontent playing nickel again who didn't want to be here and his play last year reflected as much.

pretty soon Celek will be the only AR pick left

that seems to be the trend...Kelce too,,,will only be a couple of AR guys left next year...so I'm not freaked about anything that he does now.

Reid gutted KC exact same way. So did Gus Bradley.

Every NFL coach does that when he inherits a team.

I find it kind of comical how Maclin and DJax were apparently HoFers now that they're gone, but I remember constant bitching about how neither one of them was a "true #1 receiver" and how they would get shut down by good CBs.

Help me figure out how I am supposed to be outraged

Am I supposed to be pissed because Boykin was traded, thus leaving a rookie to man the slot?

Or am I supposed to be pissed because Shepherd was so good we can't possibly replace him one week into camp?

                      I'll hang up and listen.

Boykin's replacement is either Carroll or Rowe.

Jackson was all his tude and Mouth; but lets be real

the guy can flat out fly and adjust to the deep ball better that just about any Eagles Draft pick I can remember,,Quick and Barnett come to mind..

your right most coaches bring in their own guys,, this should have been expected,, the players saw it coming that's for sure.

Carroll is playing on the outside. Looks like Thurman will slide back to the slot which is his natural position.
