  • Bradford won't play this Sunday

Chip said it will be a little bit of Sanchez and a bunch of Barkley/Tebow. Bradford will start against the Ravens.

Ertz out for a couple weeks with a core muscle injury.

Chip is holding Kiko out on his own timeline. Doesn't need him back right now, so he wants him to rest from the concussion, which he could very well be cleared from already.

this should be another rousing year of "well, it's the 3rd preseason game that we really get to see the starters."

Dude hasn't played a meaningful football game since October of 2013.

And I'm fine with that. Wrap him in bubble wrap.

I'm more concerned with Ertz having a hernia and not being ready for week 1.

I agree. Injuries like that tend to linger. Hopefully it's not serious and the team is rightly just being cautious.

I understand the caution of keeping Bradford out, but how much difference is one more week really going to make? I wouldn't be surprised if they hold him out of game 2 as well.

They get to practice two days with ravens, sort of like live action. I agree with the thinking.

Who, if any, is the 3rd string TE?

Trey Burton. Undersized, but he's pretty athletic. Then some no-name guys from camp.

                  Update:

Ertz will have a procedure on a minor groin tear, teammates say. Not as serious as what Jason Kelce went through last season.

I just read that Ertz will sit the entire pre season but will be ready to go Week 1. Sitting for a few weeks was recommended by doctors.

I'm okay with holding Bradford out. I'd like to get one game under the new OL's belt before having him play.

Let the OL work out their kinks with someone else in there.

From what I remember Burton had some good moments on ST last season. Will be good to see him get some reps

I'm in total agreement with Chip not playing SB. The longer he doesn't see actual playing time, the better. I wouldn't get him anywhere near an opposing defense. He has full command of the scheme anyway. All these running actual plays against a team that could touch him is risk/reward silly.

That's a question you wouldn't have to ask if you were paying attention. Beta of the year
