  • Pumped for Temple as well

Penn State and Notre Dame at the Linc. Should be huge near sellout crowds for both. The Owls look to be strong this year (for them).

Who says Philly's not a college football town? It will be this year.

Saw that Temple and the Eagles just extended their deal for the Linc for a couple of years. It makes sense.

Temple is considering building a new stadium but in reality, how many stadiums do we need in Philadelphia? I think their threat to do that is leverage... unless the Eagles terms of using the Linc are onerous. Which they could be.

It is in the Eagles best financial interest to keep the Linc occupied as many days of the year as possible. You can see they are trying to do this with things like having training camp practices there, etc.

And there is nothing that would be better for the Eagles than to have Temple be a strong team playing strong teams at the Linc.

Maybe they'll make enough money to put in durable grass.

I really haven't seen too many complaints from players about the grass at the Linc. It looks bad at times but I kind of like that it's grass. There could be better alternatives.

Wonder how it ranks relative to other fields in the league.

It looks pretty beat to me about half way through the season.

It was worse some years ago, though.

Somebody has to keep injury statistics on types of fields.

But that's a completely different thing that how good the quality of play is on a field. Recently, I found it interesting to hear Hollis Thomas talking about how the quality of artificial turf differed at different stadiums.

Not sure how much the field is responsible for injuries so the statistic would have to somehow differentiate between injuries that would have occurred on any field and those when the field contributed to, or caused, the injury.

I was more focused on the quality of play.

I remember my brother bitching when Jackson was playing for the Eagles that they were idiots for not having a "faster" surface to maximize his talent.

Could Temple play some games at the Union's field in Chester? Might be a pretty good fit size wize
