  • I'm trying to be cautious

but this team looks like they could be really good. The running game is going to be disgusting and Chip could make Bradford look like an All Pro (he's already a very good qb). Secondary is not perfect but definitely improved and the front seven is solid.

I'm sure there will be ups and downs but it looks like there was more method to Chip's madness than people were giving him credit for (myself included at times). It looks like he has put together a team of guys that have mostly bought in and just get down to business. No distractions. Minimal bs.

    I'm pretty stoked.

Team is younger and better than last year

and that's what we all wanted; Improved Defense and so far they are not lights out, but have shown improvement,,Lack of pass rush is something that needs to be addressed.

Chip has proven to me his offense is Plug and play, I also think the younger guards will pay Dividends in the running game....Still can't judge this team till week 6 or 8 of the season...we will know more by then...happy so far

Right there with ya man.. this team is heading in the right direction and the FF stench is well past us.

I think the secondary will be much improved, love the Maxwell pick up, this guy is saying all the right things:

Davis: The first thing that jumps to mind is how many turnovers Walter Thurmond generates as why he is starting at safety. He's a ballhawk

          I'm with you.

While I have a hereditary proclivity for removed, emotional naysaying -- I really do feel pretty good about this season. Sam Bradford just LOOKS like a guy that could hoist that prize. Close your eyes now...can't you see him with the thing, fingerprints all over it...

Now, whatever was already decided to be the ultimate outcome of this season at the owners meetings is what will be, we all know this -- the scenario in which the league makes the most money, the owners all profit in some way -- BUT I think they picked us this time.

              Cautiously optimistic

Preseason football can be deceiving. There's alot of "for who, for what" going on with some of these bums. Look at this sh*t that came about about Chris Carter. He's telling rookie NFL payers that if they get in trouble, they should have a "fall guy" in their "crew." That tells you the mentality of most NFL players. Why should I take the blame for my own actions? Why should I bust it in a preseason game?

I don't think that's misplaced optimism. Just the preseason, but two games in it doesn't take much imagination to see what Kelly was aiming for when he rebuilt the roster. The team clearly has the potential to win enough games to get to the postseason, and then who knows?

Bradford's health, O line depth, OLB depth, safety depth are the biggest concerns for me, in that order. But there's not a team in the NFL that isn't screwed if their starting QB goes down, or their all-pro left tackle gets hurt, etc. I'm cautiously optimistic Kelly's sports science work is going to keep the Eagles healthier than the competition, especially with a couple of years of experience under his belt dealing with adults in the NFL, not just 20-year-old college kids.

They were second in the league last year in sacks. Graham and Curry, maybe their two best pass rushers, will see more playing time this year. Low preseason sack number aside, I think the pass rush will be fine.

I hear you. That's why I'm trying not to get ahead of myself. It has nothing to do with winning the games, though. It's just things I'm seeing. The way Bradford throws, the way Murray and Matthews hit the holes. The aggressiveness of the corners. Things like that that were missing. I think Ryan Matthews may turn out to be the hidden gem in this offseason.

offensive line looks locked in, as well.
