Not sure if anyone has seen this on HBO. Not very publicized (from what I can tell), but it's excellent.

Co-written by David Simon and Wire fans should enjoy it based on writing alone. Gives a good look into local politics that I'd rate as at least fairly close to the real thing.

I guess I should say, local politics in general. I was too young for that. But Simon is very good at getting it right. I was meeting with a few Trenton cops who said the Wire is the closest TV has ever gotten to real police work.
