Spy Magazine was on to his cheating at golf twenty five years ago.

I knew about Trump in this regard because I read Who's Your Caddy when it came out, at least 10 years ago.

My recollection of the chapter in that book on Trump was that Reilly said that he's actually a good player but his ego will not let him score over a certain number and he cheats to ensure this.

BTW - Who's Your Caddy is the best fucking golf book I've ever read.

It's 10 chapters of Reilly's impressions of the personalities of 5 pro golfers and 5 celebrities, in the way they are revealed to him while he was allowed to caddy for them while they played a round of golf (some of the pros had him caddy for them in tournaments).

Did I tell you the story a caddy told us about Trump @ Trump National in Bedminster?

Said he was caddying for "Mr" Trump at one hole that had a beautiful huge tree on it (I forget the species). Anywho, Trump slices his drive and ends up with this big tree in between his lie and the green. The next day, that tree was cut down!

It's funny how now the Establishment (and it doesn't get any more Establishment than the Washington Post) is now attacking Trump for cheating at golf.

No ... but it doesn't surprise me.

A friend of mine won a foursome at his course in Westchester Co. and I played it with him and two other guys ... the plastic water bottles had his picture on them.

On a related note, if memory serves me, Bill Clinton reportedly took gimmees on putts that were much longer than reasonable.
