...Gardner's signing means, if I'm not mistaken, the entire offensive line is signed through NEXT season. This is huge, IMO.

This is the most optimistic (or Kool-Aide addled, depending on your viewpoint) I have been about this team since 04. Pretty amazing considering all the talent that has been traded/released. Disclaimer is keeping #7 upright, but that's a big part about signing these O-line guys.

    Really psyched.

Of course, even on 04 we were worried about keeping Donnie upright. The other funny thing about this season is, if the Eagles went 6-10, 10-6 or 14-2, I wouldn't be shocked.

      What?

I will be shocked if they win less than 10

I'm glad you mentioned 2004 -- that was definitely the last time I was this high on the team's prospects. I still remember the first throw of the preseason, McNabb to TO deep, took it straight to the end zone. It wasn't just the completions or the catches or the points that impressed that preseason. The team looked locked in in a way I'd never really seen before or since, especially on offense.

It feels similar this year -- it's not so much the points, or ten straight complete passes from Bradford, or whatever. The team just looks like a well-calibrated machine right now, at least on offense, and the defense looks improved, which could be enough.

Looking at this team as objectively as I can, it looks really good. I'm optimistic they take a step or two forward, at least.
