They are a model franchise as far as winning and continuing to keep a competitive team on the field, much like the old cowpies who always seemed to field a competitive team. You hated them, but had to respect how they kept going.

NFL spokesperson Michael Signora issued the following statement, in which he claims the NFL supplies the coaches’ communications equipment—and that, contrary to Tomlin’s claims, the problems didn’t last the whole first half:

In the first quarter of tonight’s game, the Pittsburgh coaches experienced interference in their headsets caused by a stadium power infrastructure issue, which was exacerbated by the inclement weather. The coaches’ communications equipment, including the headsets, is provided by the NFL for both clubs use on game day. Once the power issue was addressed, the equipment functioned properly with no additional issues.
This 2014 NFL.com article seems to dispute that the NFL provides clubs’ headsets to them on game day:

This year, Bose shipped about 50 headsets to each stadium, for use by coaches on the sideline and in the booth, medical and officiating personnel. Teams travel with their own headsets in a special case and many coaches, creatures of habit and superstition, have taken to labeling their headset, particularly if their teams win when they wear a specific one. [...] The NFL mandates that every coach have exactly the same headset, and that any modification be made available to all teams so that no competitive advantage can be gained.
In fact, the NFL’s own Gameday Policy Manual states:

Home clubs are responsible for the installation and maintenance of the coaching staff communications infrastructure.
It further explains that the visiting coaches on the sideline may use their own headsets, but those used by visiting coaches in the coaches’ booth are supplied by the home team.

I read that article earlier this morning. How bout the part that says whenever a NFL rep went down to tell the Pats they had to turn off their headsets, the Steelers headsets would miraculously start working again. Then, when that NFL rep would leave, the Steelers headsets stopped working again.

It's a shame that so many weird coincidences always happen when the Pats are involved.

While true that it was a shitty display of cheating as well the issue with the Patriots is that it KEEPS HAPPENING.

Was Deflategate in and of itself a big deal? Probably not. But the Patriots had already been caught for cheating and were generally known to be cheaters beyond what was uncovered during Spygate.

It's a culture of cheat and their fans (unsurprisingly because its what fans do) support them regardless.

Does their cheating have anything to do with their winning? It's not like they won all these superbowls because they were cheating, I think it's safe to say they would have won regardless. Unlike a Lance Armstrong who kept winning primarily because he was cheating

Unless Belichek is simply diabolical, he cheated for a reason and that reason is 99.9999% likely be that they wanted to win football games.

I won't argue that they're not a well-run organization with a coach who can utilize talent - but how well would that talent have been utilized if they weren't cheating - enough to be a dynasty?

It can't be answered because they in fact they fact that they cheated (and continued to cheat) and it puts a taint on it.

That's the objective reason I dislike the team. The subjective reason is that Boston fans are the worst.
