It's sad that kids this young have to experience racism and ignorance like this.

2. I think it's pretty safe to say that if this was White kid Billy Smith, the teacher would have given him an A+ and sent him on his way. However, this was Muslim kid Ahmed Mohammed, so of course there's now reason to suspect a bomb. The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is - Winston Churchill

They were so concerned that it was a bomb that they never evacuated the school and never called in the bomb squad. Yet they arrested him, placed him in cuffs and perp walked him in front of his schoolmates.
They then questioned him without his parents being present and threatened hoax charges.Originally posted by 3rd & InchesDon't type mad.

"Police said they don't think the device was dangerous, but don't believe Mohamed told them everything.
"We have no information that he claimed it was a bomb," police spokesman James McLellan said. "He kept maintaining it was a clock, but there was no broader explanation."
"It could reasonably be mistaken as a device if left in a bathroom or under a car. The concern was, what was this thing built for? Do we take him into custody?"
Police did take Mohamed into custody, hands cuffed and two officers escorting him from the building, taking him to take his fingerprints, a mug shot and to meet his parents, KXAS reported."Originally posted by 3rd & InchesDon't type mad.

Uh huh ... and if it had blown up I'm pretty sure you'd be saying this is lack of vigilance of the worse kind.
When it comes to devices that look like bombs in high schools ... I'm on the side of handcuffs first, questions later.Obscenity is the last refuge of an inarticulate motherfucker.
